Civil Netizen Beta Release 6

BETA RELEASE 6 HAS BEEN DEPRECATED IN FAVOR OF BETA RELEASE 7.  PLEASE UPGRADE TO THE LATEST VERSION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Today, we are proud to announce Netizen Beta Release 6.  This release includes a number of convenience features that our users have long been asking for.  First and foremost is the addition of the ability for Windows users to minimize Netizen to the system tray.  If there are outstanding parcels waiting to be picked up or are if there are downloads or uploads in progress, Netizen will ask the user if they want to minimize the application to the system tray instead of closing the window and shutting down.  This release also registers the pickup slip and parcel file types with Windows, allowing users to double-click on a pickup slip from their desktop to load it onto Netizen.  This is a good alternative to copy and pasting pickup slips and should allow users to send pickup slips as email file attachments or post it on their blog or website.  This release also corrects an upload progress calculation error in the "Parcel Details" screen and improves the networking engine to ensure more efficient uploads and downloads.

As always, if you have any suggestions or complaints regarding Netizen, feel free to send me email via the support address or post a comment on our discussion board. A detailed set of changes and important known issues in this release is provided below.

Perfect! This release fixed all bugs that really annoyed me in the previous versions.

Great enhancements! This was already a solid product, but this release includes a few features that are very user friendly. I like the fact that I don't have to cut and paste each pickup slip... nice touch. I've been telling colleagues about this product since I was first introduced to it (by a friend) about 6 months ago -- everyone is very impressed! I have to xfer 100+ MB files frequently for my work, and clients feel good knowing that the data is secure and quickly transferable. Thanks for the great updates!

Nice product. Just started using it but I am all for making security easy for non techies so that security, encryption and realizing that your files over the internet are in the clear and are analagous to sending a postcard in the mail with confidential info on it. The more aware everyone becomes, the easier it is for those of us who are security conscious to not appear paranoid :o)

This is an amazing program. It's so simple to use, and even somebody whose barely ever used a computer before can just drag some files in and hit "Package Parcel". This release makes it even easier and simpler to use! Thanks for making a wonderful program that's 100% free.
