Discussion Forum > CN on Vista
I just got windows vista on a new laptop of mine, and apparently downloaded Netizen successfully on it. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to open. The pointer shows a loading symbol, then stops and the program doesn't pop up. Is Netizen not yet compatible with Vista, or do you think its something else?

Hi,
Netizen has not yet been tested on Microsoft Vista, so for now, it is not yet compatible. As soon as our new Vista test machine arrives we will have a better idea as to what may be causing the problem.

We recently got a new Vista machine to test Netizen on and it seems that it does indeed run on Microsoft Vista, provided that you enable Windows XP compatibility mode (under the "Compatibility" tab of the "Properties" context menu) for the Netizen shortcut on your desktop.

Has anyone noticed how old the posts are regarding Vista? Almost 15 months. I have Vista and I can't get CNC to work on my machine. Anyone out there managed to get it to work on a vista machine?

Netizen will usually run as soon as you enable XP Compatibility mode. Is it still not starting up even when you enable XP Compatibility mode?

Hi there. I had issues with Vista as well until I tried the compatibility mode. That seems to work just fine.
