Discussion Forum > want to delete a file I have put on the server
I put a file on the server for download by my friend and then noticed it is not yet edited so I don't want to send it to him. How can I take it off the server so nobody can download it?

The current version of Netizen does not upload anything to our servers. You actually serve the file from your computer directly using peer-to-peer. To delete it, just go to "Track Status", select your parcel and delete it.
I hope that helps.

Thanks for the message. So does that mean My machine should be on and connected when my friend is downloading? In applications like Pando, you upload to their server and it does not matter if you are on or not, your friend downloads direct from their server

Yes, for the current beta release, you need to keep your machine up and running when your friend is downloading. Our next release will let you upload to our server so that you won't have to this.
