Discussion Forum > "pick up" firewall issues

I sent a pick up slip to a friend in Indonesia. She copied the PUS into the PU entry box and attempted to "download parcel", the file name was visible at that point. then she received an error mentioning firewall or router (she does not have a router). She is running Norton spysweeper, and when she checked windows firewall the ICS ?? could not be connected (or something). I know that CN is working on expanding to other countries and are experiencing some problems. So... Is Indonesia one of these lucky places? and/or should I do something with the firewall settings. If so....how would I go about doing this
If you can help. that'd be great......thanks

Hi Tom,

The firewal message is simply a notice and not necessarily an error message. It just means that the application isn't able to reliably communicate with our network so that it is assuming there is a firewall involved. Netizen can sometimes negotiate connections despite these constraints, though. That being said, it is quite possible that the application was not able to reliably communicate with our network all the way from Indonesia. Our network presence in Asia is not yet as robust as the US and parts of Europe so that may be causing the firewall warning. If your friend does have a firewall please ensure that aggressive filtering options such as SPI or DNS filtering are disabled.

I hope this helps.
